After bringing ads to Instagram Stories last year, Facebook began testing their Stories ads in May and have now officially made them available to all advertisers globally.
Facebook’s full ad-targeting and measurement capabilities will be available for their new Stories ads as is the case for Instagram Stories. Also, the new ad units will be coming to Messenger soon, which could potentially be a major new revenue source.
Stine Steffensen Børke, Norwegian Airlines’ director of global marketing says that putting ads in Facebook Stories will help reach a larger and more diverse audience in a creative way. He includes that it is cost-efficient and can be easily accessible for users through their own mobile devices.
With the social media giant continuously confirming that Stories are the future of social sharing, it will be interesting to see if the new Facebook Stories ads will capture consideration from marketers and uplift the platform’s current usage rate.
