Instagram is taking a stand against ads that promote weight-loss products.
It has announced that it will be restricting ads that promote weight-loss products for users under 18 years of age as per the following statement from The Evening Standard:
“Instagram will be restricting posts for users under 18 years old that promote the use of certain weight loss products or cosmetic procedures, and that have an incentive to buy or includes a price.”
This is not the first move from the social media giant on this matter – a few weeks back Facebook worked on new ranking updates on its Newsfeed algorithm to demote posts that promote health miracles.
