Facebook seems to be as serious about privacy as they are about integrating their full suite of products and services. Building on their own strong security know-how from their other messaging apps, namely WhatsApp, Facebook is now bringing end-to-end encryption for audio and video calls in FB Messenger.
According to Facebook:
The content of your messages and calls in an end-to-end encrypted conversation is protected from the moment it leaves your device to the moment it reaches the receiver’s device. This means that nobody else, including Facebook, can see or listen to what’s sent or said.
This is great news for users and businesses alike, with the Menlo Park giant is upholding all its messaging platforms to high privacy standards.
